our yearly summer photo project: a scavenger hunt between two friends while one resides in mozambique/nepal and the other resides in the united states. new for 2009: you picked the subjects, we take the pictures.
this is one of my favorite shots that I took for the entire project. Although we set out to show how different Mozambique and the US of A can be, what has been neat for me to see with all of the this, is the similarities of our shots.
Both of these shots used a soft focus on the background/main part of the shot (bride and people on porch), while the foreground (head scarves and party lights) is in focus and adds color/meaning to the whole picture of celebration.
Please comment and let us know your thoughts—we'd love for this project to generate conversation on who we are as people and how our
cultures are sometimes entirely different and sometimes entirely the same. Thanks for visiting!
